Welcome to My Magic Brushes Studio. My name is Yovette and I'm glad you could join me today
My love of art started in grade school when I got an “A” on a drawing I did of a simple tree. It was just a trunk with some branches and didn't even have any leaves! To my amazement, the teacher put it in the hallway showcase! I would have given myself an “F” but the teacher seemed to find something in my drawing that had promise. And she was right!
All through school I took art classes and did very well. In my 40’s while watching TV one day,
this guy with a big bushy Afro and a deep soothing voice was painting a landscape,
and I was fascinated that he could do a whole painting in 25 minutes!
So in 1997 I started school to become a Certified Bob Ross Art Instructor which took a period of 3 years.
And after that I became a William Alexander Art Instructor! That was my educational beginning.
Since then, I have been able to start My Magic Brushes Studio where I not only create paintings,
but also have had the privilege to teach many many other people to paint.
I teach that one just has to learn that inside every paintbrush there lives bushes, trees, and clouds.
And inside every palette knife there lives rocks, mountains, and cabins.
If you learn how to make those items come out and live on your canvas, the possibilities become endless!
Sound simple? It is!
